Knots to learn

If you are unaccustomed to tying knots in heavy/stiff nylon and coated steel leader material, practice the following before you arrive.

• Leader to swivel - perfection loop or clinch knot.
• Leader to hook/lure – perfection loop where there is no split ring, or clinch knot to a split ring/snap.
• Nylon leader to coated steel leader – 6-turn Albright knot (turn the nylon around the looped steel).
• Coated steel – perfection loop.
• Main line to swivel – 2-turn clinch knot or improved clinch knot.
• Main line (braid) to swivel – uni-knot tied with doubled main line.
