Liche (Lichia sp.)

Very similar to the leerfish/palometta, this beautiful, streamlined predator looks like a cross between a permit, and amberjack. They are seldom present in any numbers but when around they chase down and savagely attack surface lures, particularly those fished in the surf zone. It is not known just how big they grow, but fish bigger than 15kgs have been recorded.
