Grunter (Pomadasys Jubelini)

This small crustacean feeder is common both in the surf and lagoon. They grow to at least 4kgs but most that are caught are smaller than 1kg. From time to time they can be caught on small lures, flies and jigs, although the easiest way to catch them is using live macrobrachium prawns fished over sandbanks and reefs in the lagoon on light tackle.
